Affinity diagrams are widely used in project management to organize the ideas captured using brainstorming. Affinity diagrams allows large numbers of ideas stemming from brainstorming to be sorted into groups based on their natural relationships for further analysis / consolidation. In new product development projects, affinity diagrams are used to club together different features based on their affinity. Affinity diagrams are also used to group together ideas generated out of brainstorming.
